Take an historic, 1911 firehouse in Ballard, give it a loving renovation, add some veteran restaurant talent and a great menu and you've got yourself Chow Foods' fifth neighborhood restaurant, The Hi-Life, born Oct. 2004.The Hi-Life serves up a host of options; we've got everything from small plates to sharable platters. Feeling peckish? Don't miss the ever changing regional specialties at dinner. Each quarter we explore a different wine-producing region of the world. Items on the roving menu are served "family style" and designed to feed from two to six people. For breakfast, try the vanilla-custard dipped Fancy French Toast, topped with sugared hazelnuts and espresso-mascarpone (yow!) served with real maple syrup. Dig it? Dig in. Love a full, "spirited" bar? This oasis features seasonally-changing, infused vodka cocktails, local brews on draft, wine paired to seasonal menus, and more including a specially priced late night menu from 10pm daily! Psssst. We also have a fine little private dining room available for adults only. We can host a combination cocktail party and sit down dinner for up to 20 if you please. Give us a call and let us help you plan your special event. Not sure how to find The Hi-Life? Head to Ballard down Market Street and look up! The 20-foot high neon sign atop the brick building's elevator shaft says it all: EAT-DRINK. |
