Not sure how to find The Hi-Life? Head down Market Street to Ballard and look up! The 20-foot neon sign atop the brick building's elevator shaft says it all: EAT-DRINK.

Bringing order to Seattle’s seasonal mood disorder
with our seasonal menus

Located in the 101 year old historic Firehouse No. 18 built in 1911, we serve up a rotating menu that features the best of our four seasons here in the Pacific Northwest. With an emphasis on our grilled and brick oven roasted dishes, our line turns out tasty, full flavored food for breakfast, lunch and dinner each and every day.

Our Fall dinner menu offers up a number of seasonal small plates. The Tabbouleh Salad is filled with Bluebird Grain Farms Einka farro, roasted local squash, shallots, sweet drop mini peppers, feta & arugula in lemon vinaigrette with brick oven flatbread.  The Gnocchi is our special small plate that has russet & sweet potato gnocchi, crisped pancetta and rosemary in butternut squash brodo with fried golden needle mushrooms.   For a meal, we like our Braised Pork Shoulder- Carlton Farms Pork braised in Ballard's Reuben's Stout over a hash of red potatoes, roasted squash, fall harvest apples, charred onions, mustard greens, kale & red chard. Our vegetarian main dish is season is the Cauliflower RisottoRiced cauliflower cooked with pureed parsnips & almonds served with roasted Dykstra Farms acorn squash, red beets and a salad of arugula, gala apples, pickled celery root & sweet drop mini peppers in horseradish-Dijon vinaigrette.

Our American Grill menu offers up our year round favorites including, Hickory Smoked Spareribs with Bodacious BBQ Sauce, a fine Montana raised Wagyu Hamburger, and an assortment of brick-oven pizzas, or for those late-late risers, our Nighthawk Breakfast is available for dinner.

Breakfast brings home the bacon with the standard breakfast options, or you can try one of our Hi-Life Habits, which include Clean-up on Aisle 12, a delicious root vegetable hash, or our ever present Biscuits & Gravy. Go ahead, wash it all down with a Firehouse Bloody Mary and roll home for a nap.

Check out our Not-so-Early-Bird Ballard Breakfasts that are available Monday-Friday only. Your choice of 5 dishes for only $6.50!

Lunch sets you up with a wide selection of signature sandwiches such as our Black Bean & Quinoa Burger served with a salad, or our B.L.T. with lemon aioli. Not in the mood for a sandwich? Then try one of our entrées like the Chicken Pot Pie with a savory stew and biscuit crust or our classic Fish & Chips made with Alaskan True Cod, and, don’t forget that we serve our full breakfast menu every day ‘til 3pm.

We also have a fine little private dining room available. We can host a combination cocktail party and sit down dinner for up to 26 seated or 36 cocktail if you please. For more information, check out our Private Dining Room page.
