Not sure how to find The Hi-Life? Head down Market Street to Ballard and look up! The 20-foot neon sign atop the brick building's elevator shaft says it all: EAT-DRINK.

BALLARD’S AMERICAN GRILL
Bringing order to Seattle’s seasonal mood disorder
with our seasonal menus

Located in the 101 year old historic Firehouse No. 18 built in 1911, we serve up a rotating menu that features the best of our four seasons here in the Pacific Northwest. With an emphasis on our grilled and brick oven roasted dishes, our line turns out tasty, full flavored food for breakfast, lunch and dinner each and every day.

Our SUMMER  dinner menu offers up a number of seasonal small plates. The Grilled Little Gems appetizer plate has grilled hearts of sucrine lettuce, cucumber-lime crema, charred corn/cucumber/fresno pepper salsa, cotija.  The Burrata Caprese is our special small plate-- house made ricotta rolled into hand spun mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, Thai basil, crostini.   For a meal, we like our Pan-Seared Salmon- with summer hash of charred corn, pickled Fresnos, red onion, & potatoes. Served with blistered green beans & kinda spicy serrano/parsley sauce. Our vegetarian main dish is season is the Summer Garden Plate- Bluebird farms Einka Farro & Ceci beans stewed with tomato & red wine, Tutto Calabria pepper grilled local squashes & eggplant, arugula salad in basil vinaigrette.

Our American Grill menu offers up our year round favorites including, Hickory Smoked Spareribs with Bodacious BBQ Sauce, a fine Montana raised Wagyu Hamburger, and an assortment of brick-oven pizzas, or for those late-late risers, our Nighthawk Breakfast is available for dinner.

Breakfast brings home the bacon with the standard breakfast options, or you can try one of our Hi-Life Habits, which include Clean-up on Aisle 12, a delicious root vegetable hash, or our ever present Biscuits & Gravy. Go ahead, wash it all down with a Firehouse Bloody Mary and roll home for a nap.

Check out our Not-so-Early-Bird Ballard Breakfasts that are available Monday-Friday only. Your choice of 6 dishes for only $6.75!

Lunch sets you up with a wide selection of signature sandwiches such as our Black Bean & Quinoa Burger served with a salad, or our B.L.T. with lemon aioli. Not in the mood for a sandwich? Then try one of our entrées like the Chicken Pot Pie with a savory stew and biscuit crust or our classic Fish & Chips made with Alaskan True Cod, and, don’t forget that we serve our full breakfast menu every day ‘til 3pm.

We also have a fine little private dining room available. We can host a combination cocktail party and sit down dinner for up to 26 seated or 36 cocktail if you please. For more information, check out our Private Dining Room page.

Neighborhood Notes

Summer Time at the Hi-Life!

Summer has finally arrived in Seattle! Warm days, sunshine, blue skies, days on the water....we could keep going but you get the point. It's also time for our Summer Menu to debut! The infamous delicious Heirloom Tomatoes are back and featured in our new appetizer- Burrata Caprese. Our Pan-Seared Salmon has summer written all over it with a summer hash of charred corn, pickled Fresnos, red onion & potatoes--served with blistered green beans & kinda spicy serrano/parsely sauce. Oh yea, and in honor of the 4th of July we are getting patriotic with our Varied Berry French Toast! Summer is here and it feels so good!
